Top Trilogy series of all times

Some movies are made so well that one is not enough; we need more of the instalments to come. There has been an explosion of trilogy over time and while some films know when exactly to stop that it wraps up the whole this so neatly. Here is a list of the top trilogies that were wrapped up impressively.

  1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy- The Lord of the Rings Trilogy consisting of
    1. The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
    2. The Two Towers (2002)
    3. The Return of the King (2003)

Directed by Peter Jackson, it is a stunning trilogy. The painstaking attention to all the details from the costume to the effect, the directing and the acting has all been very impressive. The consistency throughout the trilogy is a cinematic landmark and the reason why it is one of the best trilogies made today. Also, this is the one set of a trilogy that does justice to the written book.

  1. The Original Star Wars Trilogy- The Star Wars Trilogy which consisted of
    1. Episode IV- A New Hope (1977)
    2. Episode V- The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
    3. Episode VI- Return of the Jedi (1983)

Directed by George Lucas, Irvin Kershner, Richard Marquand has set a standard with the trilogy and made the trend of trilogy go on. The Star Wars took in a mixture of styles and shook the foundations of the movie world making it one of the most known films. The last film did quite a good closing act for the trilogy.

  1. Toy Story trilogy- The Toy Story Trilogy of
    1. Toy Story (1995)
    2. Toy Story 2 (1999)
    3. Toy Story 3(2010)

Directed by John Lasseter, John Lasseter, Lee Unkrich released the first Toy Story which was the first film to be entirely computer animated was a hit. The sequels of the first movie had surprisingly lived up to its expectation. There are other animated trilogies, but by far Toy Story has done the best

  1. The God Father Trilogy- The Godfather trilogy which is made up of
    1. The Godfather (1972)
    2. The Godfather II (1974)
    3. The Godfather III (1990)

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola is a splendid adaptation of Mario Puzo’s book. The themes of the trilogy blend with each of the parts perfectly. Albeit the first two is a treasured classic, and  part 3 may not have done so well, it still completes the whole sequence

  1. Indiana Jones trilogy – The trilogy of Indiana Jones which include
    1. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
    2. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
    3. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)

Directed by Steven Spielberg, Indiana Jones is a perfect film. The fact that his exploits do not do so as for smooth as he wants makes it impressive a movie with his determination, charm and wry sense of humour. All the series of Indiana Jones are filled with adventure and so following the trilogy makes it intriguing
